Tentacles Tutorial

Well you may know these tentacles from several graphics and you may also know the tutorial by .. uhm do not remember ... anyhow .. there is some tutorial out that explains how to do them. The point is: The tutorial requires shading skills and is in some case hard to do. For this i am here with a solution in my pockets. What you need for this easy to do tutorial is this gradient i did for my Chrome Pipes a long time ago (you need to unZIP them before you can use them) and hey .. it comes in handy for this to complete.

Step 1

Create a new Image that is about 2-3 times greater as you need it (for scaling purposes). E.g. i use an image of 1000x3000 pixels to create the tentacle. Ensure your image has proper dimensions, a black background and RGB mode.

Step 2

Create some rectangular selection in the dimensions of the tentactle. See SShot for example . Remember it must be a selection that goes vertically.
